No group in Freestyle Music has been imitated— or attempted to be—more than The Cover Girls! This iconic 80s girl group brought us unforgettable hits like Show Me, Because of You, Inside Outside, My Heart Skips a Beat, and more, carving a unique place in Freestyle history.

The original lineup included Angel Mercado, Caroline Jackson, and Sunshine Wright, with Margo Urban soon replacing Sunshine and performing with the group, until Angel was replaced, which would eventually lead to the groups demise.

​

In 2008, the original trio reunited at the Freestyle Music Awards in Miami to accept an award and catch up on old times. Then, in 2011, and for the first time in over 20 years Angel, Caroline, and Margo came together to perform for Long Beach Pride. The chemistry that made them one of the most sort after groups reignited, making it crystal clear to manager Latif Mercado that a new future for The Cover Girls did exist.

With new management, the original lead singer back, and a genre that was thriving more than ever, there was no stopping them. Since reuniting, The Cover Girls have performed longer than their first run, reaching more cities, and gracing major stages everywhere.

Michelle Viana was invited to join them as their new member, and has been doing a remarkable job.
